Granite Gabion Stone 100-150mm Aggregate

£75.00 + VAT

Granite gabion stone provides a durable, attractive, and versatile solution for constructing retaining walls, garden features, or landscaping elements. Our 100–150 mm granite boulders are ideal for filling gabion baskets, offering a strong, long-lasting wall while showcasing the natural beauty and texture of granite.

Gabion walls are a cost-effective and efficient way to create structural or decorative features. For a simple approach, the entire gabion basket can be filled with 100–150 mm granite stones, producing a robust and economical wall. The natural variations in colour and texture of our granite add visual interest, with attractive greys, blues, and subtle earthy tones displayed on the wall’s face.

Typically, a 1 cubic metre gabion basket requires approximately 2 tonnes of granite. For a more refined finish, gabions can also be faced with smaller granite walling stone, while the remaining volume is filled with our 100–150 mm granite stones. This method provides a neat, professional appearance while retaining the strength and stability of a fully filled gabion.

When building gabion walls with granite stones, it is important to position the larger stones carefully rather than simply tipping them into the basket. This ensures a stable structure and enhances the visual appeal. Additionally, check that the gabion cage apertures are small enough so that the smaller stones do not fall through. Even with wider openings, the larger stones can be placed near the front to maintain a clean, attractive face.

Our granite gabion stones are perfect for a variety of projects, including retaining walls, garden features, riverside or landscape reinforcement, and decorative landscaping. Their durability and natural aesthetic ensure that your gabion walls will remain strong and visually appealing for many years.
